soundtrack: Jem – Stay Now

Somehow almost no pictures in the camera, so I will tell you: Four days walking around my other city. One nerve-wracking interview. Meeting dear old friends. Meeting some newer friends again. Some resolution. One cute cat. Rainy/Sunny Amsterdam. Closed typography bookshop. One kilo of Gouda to bring home. (But I could have just stayed…)

day 5.

soundtrack: Sara Bareilles – Vegas (live)

Great workshop; I learned lots of new technical stuff and got a good start for my thesis project (so expect a lot of type pics!).

Flight tickets in my pocket, the song suits my mood. It’s all about doing crazy things sometimes, right?

soundtrack: Shout Out Louds – Fall Hard

Home workspace organized and ready to go. Couple more things to the inspiration/ motivation wall, perhaps. I’m hoping that staring at the t]m specimen poster every day will work some magic.

2010 -  No need for additional new years promises really; I have the index cards. Except for the  g r a d u a t i o n card. And the a p p l i c a t i o n s card. This quote makes me think, though:  You must bring something to the school before you can carry even more away as you leave it. Then again, it’s not up to me. My work is to try.

the usual lecture notes

My dutch best friend was here this weekend, oh how good to see her!

I decided to throw the thesis plan in the trash; why not do a proper graduation project, not just a portfolio + some arbitrary research? Which could mean a type project. (And some text about the process.)

I had a teacher who said to put down your top five goals on index cards and to everyday write down one tiny step that you have done to achieve the goal. According to the rules of my teacher, if after two weeks you have done nothing then you have to throw away the index card as it is something you must not really want. (…)

Right.
