time and more time
October 4th, 2005When you are really busy, bake bread from scratch.
(free) tools for project/time/life management: writeboard, a new addition which you can also incorporate with backpack. Basecamp looks like a good system.
I’d like to try using this kind of web software for team work. The last school project I did (due yesterday) could certainly have benefited from something like this. While we usually store all the material on school network space, at some point, it’s mostly just finished material, so we don’t see each other’s drafts or works in progress. This often results in overlapping useless work. Nevermind that it’s only accessible on school computers… while I like to work home. Well our project went ok with few meetings, everyone doing their own thing and leaving notes on each other’s tables at school… and in the name of our powerpoint show… and finally throwing it all together quickly in the last 24 hours.
But now it’s only solo design projects for the rest of the year.
I wonder when I’ll enter the electronic age and lose the A4 sized notebook I have for each school year. It goes well to store all my lecture notes, sketches and other notes and is highly portable and lightweight which is an important fact to consider when most days I lug around my dancegear as well. But you never know what catches on. These days I bookmark everything with del.icio.us.
