Taiga typeface
Taiga is a type family for books, especially fiction books and poetry.
It consists of four styles: roman, italic, bold and a text italic. The text italic is a parallel style to the roman, intended for setting longer italic captions, translations, or wherever you need a second, more informal tone of voice.
The type family has all the classic book typeface features, yet a lively, contemporary feel.

Cochin Book
A book to document the revival type design process from the research and sketches to the final type specimen. I wanted the book design to match the atmosphere and design of the typeface, an elegant french design.

le Cochin
A digital revival of the Cochin typeface, originally designed for hot metal printing by Charles Peignot, for Deberny&Peignot in 1915. The project included research into the history of the typeface and study of original type specimens. As a starting point for redrawing I also studied several printed books set in Cochin. My interpretation is a fluid, calligraphic version, with simple brushy details. Some of the more distinct characters are replaced with modern ones, but available as stylistic sets.

Akzidenz & Bodoni
The Dutch Iranian Love Affair between Bodoni & Akzidenz Grotesk - Posters for a typographic cabaret, celebrating the love between the two typefaces. My take was to investigate what would the love child of the typefaces be like, and further on to what troubles the marriage would probably face by using the four field Political Compass -scale. The posters were printed with both English and Farsi texts.
